A community-wide healing event in the wake of the shooting at the Grand 16 Theatre will be held Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m at Blackham Coliseum. The event is organized by Lafayette Consolidated Government, with support from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Lafayette’s faith and arts communities and other community stakeholders, according to a press release from LCG.
“We wanted to create a venue for healing,” said City-Parish President Joey Durel. “Together, we’ll remember those who lost their lives, support the survivors, and publicly thank our first responders.”
Blackham Coliseum is located at 2330 Johnston St.
St. Patrick Catholic Church
