In his address to Congress, Pope Francis does a masterful job of both reminding us of who we are as a nation, and challenging/inviting us as Americans to live up to our heritage. He does so in light of the Gospel, as an expression of the Social Teaching of the Catholic Church, highlighting the legacy of four great Americans: Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Dorothy Day and Thomas Merton. Highly recommended.
