Our Lady of Fatima Church
Dr. Jacob Benda who is currently serving as Director of Music and Liturgy at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church in Bloomington, Minnesota, will be giving an organ recital at Our Lady of Fatima on Sunday. October 8th at 6:15 p.m. Jacob is a native of St. Cloud, Minnesota and holds a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from Louisiana State University where he studied with Herndon Spillman. Dr. Benda has toured extensively in the United States including solo performances at the University of North Texas, Plymouth Congregational Church in Seattle, WA, Northminster Baptist Church in Jackson, MS, Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, and the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis, MN. His playing has been broadcast on Classical NPR’s PIPEDREAMS. Amidst his church music and performance careers, Jacob serves on the Board of Directors for the Ruth and Clarence Mader Memorial Scholarship Fund, as well as the Program Committee for the Twin Cities Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
